Lycée Français de Chicago
The Lycée Français de Chicago educates children in grades PK-12 through a rigorous dual-language curriculum that integrates the French educational system with a strong American program and the International Baccalaureate within an engaged multicultural community that prepares students to become responsible global citizens.
We award $700,000 per year in need-based financial aid to Lycée families. About 15 percent of our population receives aid.
Unique Study Options/Programs: We offer two secondary education programs.
- French Baccalaureate (“French Bac”) in which students can opt for the Section Americaine (formerly Option Internationale du Baccalauréat or OIB)
- International Baccalaureate diploma program
The Lycée employs an outstanding group of highly trained and experienced faculty members from around the world.

Our program is based on the French national curriculum combined with key American building blocks. It offers students the best of both worlds.
From the extensive French curriculum—taught in French—students become highly proficient critical thinkers by acquiring the rigorous writing skills and broad academic knowledge necessary for the French Baccalaureate. From our strong American program—taught in English—students receive the academic preparation that is sought by American colleges and universities.
Taking into account the richness, diversity and challenges of this dual-language system, students educated at the Lycée are well-prepared to meet—and often exceed—the demands of the best universities in France, Europe and North America.
