MISSION STATEMENT

Inspired teaching, academic rigor, attention to individual needs, a commitment to responsible citizenship-these principles infuse every day of life at Lake Forest Country Day School (LFCDS) and define our dedication to producing students of strong character with a passion for learning.

FINANCIAL AID:

LFCDS seeks to enroll a talented and diverse student body, and believes that tuition cost should not be a deterrent to prospective families. Needbased financial aid is available to qualifying families.

FACULTY:

More than 70 percent of our faculty members hold a master's degree or higher; the average length of service is 11 years.

ALUMNI:

In the last 125 years, LFCDS alumni have had success in government, industry, and the arts. Alumni are engaged in school activities, and many have enrolled their children and grandchildren.

CAMPUS AND FACILITIES:

The LFCDS campus is situated on 30 acres. We have a library and media center, band and choral rooms, a performing arts center, greenhouse, art classrooms, state-of-the-art science labs, athletic facilities, playgrounds and an outdoor environmental classroom. Our advanced technology platform supports interactive, multimedia learning.

ACCREDITATION:

LFCDS is a member of The National Association of Independent Schools, the Independent Schools Association of the Central States, the Lake Michigan Association of Independent Schools, and the Secondary School Admission Testing Board.

EXTRA CURRICULAR PROGRAMS:

Offerings include band, chorus, baseball, basketball, field hockey, football, golf, lacrosse, track, and yearbook.

UNIQUE STUDY OPTIONS/PROGRAMS:

We offer programs in community service, robotics, outdoor education, digital communications, and environmental science. Grade 8 students take an annual field trip to Washington, DC, and also enjoy foreign language field trips.

VALUE PROPOSITION:

LFCDS prepares students for a complex and competitive world that requires them to think critically, solve problems, take risks, entertain multiple points of view, project confidence, and act with integrity. As a family school, we believe that cooperation among students, faculty, and parents provides the foundation for each child's individual development. We offer a rigorous program that prepares students for a lifetime of learning, and for successful and rewarding experiences in secondary school, college, and beyond.
