Why River North is hot for rentals
(Crain's) — Greg Mutz believes he's found the perfect site for the apartment tower his company is building.
Chicago-based Amli Residential broke ground this fall on the 409-unit project at the corner of Clark and Hubbard streets.
“We think it's the premier location in River North,” Mr. Mutz tells Crain's Alby Gallun in the debut of our Dealmakers video series.
In the interview, Mr. Mutz also talks about the rosy downtown apartment market, where Class A rents have gone up 8% in the past year. But he acknowledges that with apartments getting more expensive as home prices fall, the market eventually will “self-correct.”
