Chicago airports expect over 1 million Memorial Day travelers
(AP) — More than a million travelers are expected to pass through Chicago's airports during the Memorial Day travel period.
The Chicago Department of Aviation says it's ready to welcome 1.1 million passengers during the extended weekend from Thursday through Monday.
Aviation Department officials say Friday will be the busiest day — with nearly 199,000 passengers expected at O'Hare International Airport and 65,000 at Midway International Airport.
Volunteers with United Service Organizations will be at O'Hare over the weekend to provide baked goods and water for military personnel.
