Planned apartments

545 N McClurg Ct

Chicago-based Golub & Co. plans 490 units and 65,000 square feet of office space in two buildings at 545 N. McClurg Ct. in Streeterville. The developer expects to start construction next spring.

9th and State

Golub & Co. plans a 396-unit apartment building at the corner of Ninth and State streets. The Chicago developer expects to start construction on the $121 million South Loop project in fourth-quarter 2013.

AMLI River North

AMLI Residential expects to complete the 409-unit AMLI River North at 71 W. Hubbard St. in December 2013.

Coast

Magellan Development Group LLC is building Coast, a 512-unit high-rise in the Chicago-based firm's Lakeshore East development. Magellan expects to complete the $150 million project at 345 E. Wacker Drive in September 2013.

Wolf Point

Magellan Development Group LLC plans a 500-unit tower on Wolf Point, southwest of the Merchandise Mart. The Chicago developer and its partners, the Kennedy family and Houston-based Hines Interests L.P., still need to obtain city approval and financing for the project.

K2

Fifield Cos. broke ground on K2, a $200 million, 496-unit apartment tower, in November 2011. When the building at 365 N. Halsted St. is completed in May 2013, Fifield's five-tower Kinzie Station complex will have 2,145 units.

Sono East

Chicago-based Smithfield Properties LLC recently completed Sono East, a 324-unit building at 840 W. Blackhawk St., on the western edge of Lincoln Park.

Summit

A venture led by Chicago developers Tony Rossi and Tom Moran broke ground in July on Summit on Lake, a $116 million project at 73 E. Lake St. in the East Loop. They plan to complete the building in mid-2014.

200 E. Illinois

Glencoe-based Optima Inc. broke ground in January on Optima Center Chicago, a 325-unit apartment building at 200 E. Illinois St. The developer expects to complete the $114 million project in September 2013.

Catalyst

Urban R2 Development Co. plans to start construction in December on Catalyst, a $75 million West Loop apartment building. The 233-unit project at 123 N. Des Plaines St. was originally planned as a condominium building.

Arkadia Tower

White Oak Realty Partners LLC is awaiting city approval for Arkadia Tower, a 351-unit high-rise at 756 W. Adams St. in Greektown. The Rosemont developer aims to break ground on the $100 million, 33-story project next spring.

1225 Old Town

Residents recently started moving into 1225 Old Town, a 250-unit building at 1225 N. Wells St. Houston-based Hines Interests L.P. and Chicago-based JDL Development teamed up on the estimated $100 million project.

111 W. Wacker Drive

Related Midwest, a unit of New York-based Related Cos., plans to refashion the stalled Waterview Tower and Shangri-La Hotel at 111 W. Wacker Drive into a 506-unit apartment building. The building's previous developer ran out of money in 2008, leaving behind a 27-story concrete structure.

500 N Lake Shore Drive

Related Midwest LLC plans to complete a 500-unit building at 500 N. Lake Shore Drive next May.

Hubbard Place

Habitat Co. is building Hubbard Place, a 450-unit tower at 360 W. Hubbard St. The Chicago developer expects to complete the $140 million River North tower in the fall of 2013.
